ESG Certifications

There are a handful of certifications for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices. All of them are designed to help companies measure, monitor, and improve their ESG performance, and can enhance their reputation and credibility among stakeholders. The most widely recognized certifications include:

  1. Global Reporting Initiative (GRI): GRI is a leading international standard for sustainability reporting and provides a framework for organizations to report on their ESG performance.

  2. Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB): SASB provides sustainability accounting standards for companies in specific industries, providing a common language for companies to communicate their ESG performance.

  3. CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project): CDP is a global disclosure system for companies to report their carbon emissions and climate change strategies.

  4. The Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program: This certification program evaluates products across five categories: material health, material reuse, renewable energy, water stewardship, and social fairness.

  5. ISO 26000: This international standard provides guidelines for companies on how to address their social and environmental responsibilities.
