Avoid IT Return Disasters – Here’s How!

You'd think it’s common sense for employees to carefully package valuable tech—but then you get a laptop returned in a PADDED ENVELOPE!  Here’s a quick checklist of supplies to provide and instructions to provide employees to ensure the safe return of company-owned devices:

 

  • Supply Original Packaging or a Sturdy Box: Ensure that it’s sized to fit the device snugly.

 

  • Include Bubble Wrap, Foam Cushioning and Additional Padding: Make sure employees have enough bubble wrap or foam to secure the device and prevent any movement inside the box.

 

  • Pack Accessories Separately: Advise employees to wrap and pack chargers, cables, and accessories separately to prevent them from scratching the device.

 

  • Lithium Battery Labels: If the device has lithium batteries, include proper warning stickers or labels, and instruct employees to attach them to the box for safe handling and shipping compliance.

 

  • Remind to Seal and Label Correctly: Instruct employees to tightly seal the box, label it as “Fragile,” and ensure the return address is clearly visible.
